Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 1, 2024

Sooqan.com is committed to protecting your corporate and personal data. This policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, usage, and security within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Introduction & Scope

At Sooqan.com ("Platform", "We", "Us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and other applicable regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This Privacy Policy applies to all users, buyers, suppliers, and visitors of our B2B marketplace.

Because Sooqan is a Business-to-Business (B2B) platform, much of the data we collect is commercial in nature. However, we also collect the personal data of the individuals (account managers, procurement officers) representing these businesses.

Information We Collect

To provide you with secure and efficient procurement services, we collect the following types of information:

  • Corporate Information: Company name, Commercial Registration (CR) number, VAT number, billing and shipping addresses, and corporate bank details.
  • Representative Data: Name, business email address, job title, and mobile/phone number of the authorized account user(s).
  • Transaction Data: Order history, requested quotes (RFQs), payment status, and invoices generated through the platform.
  • Technical & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, and data on how you interact with our platform (collected via cookies and tracking technologies).

How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal or corporate data. We use the collected information exclusively to facilitate B2B commerce and improve our services, specifically to:

  • Verify your corporate identity and eligibility to trade on the platform.
  • Process bulk orders, manage logistics, and facilitate secure delivery across Saudi Arabia.
  • Generate ZATCA-compliant electronic invoices and process payments securely.
  • Communicate regarding order updates, account status, policy changes, and customer support.
  • Analyze platform usage to optimize our marketplace features, search algorithms, and user experience.
Data Localization & KSA Compliance:

In compliance with Saudi Arabian digital and commercial regulations, critical transaction data, commercial registration records, and e-invoicing data are stored on secure servers located within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

To operate our supply chain efficiently, we may share specific data with trusted third parties under strict confidentiality agreements:

  • Logistics Partners: Delivery addresses and contact numbers are shared with freight and shipping partners to execute your delivery.
  • Payment Gateways: Financial details are securely processed through authorized Saudi payment gateways (e.g., Mada, SADAD, Visa/Mastercard). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
  • Suppliers/Buyers: Necessary transaction details (company name, order volume) are shared between the specific buyer and supplier involved in a transaction.
  • Legal & Regulatory Authorities: We will disclose information if required by Saudi law, a court order, or to comply with ZATCA and Ministry of Commerce regulations.

Data Security Measures

We employ enterprise-grade security protocols to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmissions, secure firewalls, role-based access controls for our staff, and regular vulnerability audits of the Sooqan portal.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Sooqan.com uses cookies to maintain user sessions, remember your preferences, and analyze site traffic. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use certain portions of our B2B dashboard effectively.

Your Rights & Data Retention

As a registered user representing a corporate entity, you have the right to access, update, or request the deletion of the personal data associated with your account profile. However, please note that transactional data and commercial invoices must be retained by Sooqan.com for the duration mandated by Saudi tax (ZATCA) and commercial laws, even if you choose to close your account.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in legal requirements or platform operations. We will notify registered users of any material changes by sending an email to the primary address associated with your account and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
